Somewhere, sometime ago, I d'loaded and installed a program which enabled the option "Change Type" to appear when any file was "right ckicked" on.
Thereby changing a ,mid to a .sty or whatever.
It did not just rename it but actually changed the type.
That was on my old pc.
Now I want it for my laptop and do not know where I got it.
Can anyone help?
Thank you
OldNewb,
Jim

Jim,

On the older computers you would have used the DOS Window, while allowed you to merely open the folder and type: ren *.mid *.sty and press enter. This essentially told the computer to change every midi file in the folder to a style file.

The same holds true if you were to type: ren *.sty *.mid and press enter. It would change every style file in the folder to a midi file.

In Windows XP this is called the Command Prompt, which can be accessed via: Start/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt.

Cheers,

Gary

Thank you Gary,
After reading your post I went and looked in my old pc again and this time discovered where it was installed...here is a link to the software.
This little program works really slick. Check it out.
